Essential Elements Your Business Website Should Have

Essential Elements Your Business Website Should Have | Lofa Consulting

In these modern times, almost all businesses, small or large including NDIS providers, have websites that potential customers can visit to know more about the business and their products. A good business website is not just about design but is about having elements that make it customer-friendly. The following are the essential elements your business website must have so it can help with your success.

1. Critical and clear company information

Those who visit your website don’t need to play a guessing game. Place a clear description of who you are. Your homepage should clearly state the business name with a summary of your products and services. Aside from your homepage, make sure you have an “about us” section which discusses your products and services in-depth and what sets you apart from the rest.

If you have both online and physical stores, include the address of your physical store just in case you have online visitors that prefer to go there to look around and shop. Including a google map and the hours of operation of your physical store will be very helpful too.

2. A simple website address

Have an easy-to-type website address. Avoid using dashes or numbers for your address. Choose to use the .com domain for your website since most online users use this extension when entering a web address. If you are an organisation, you can use the .org domain but have a .com version too just in case an interested visitor types the .com address.

3. Easy-to-navigate sitemap

Ensure that the links to the most important pages of your website are very visible. Putting a site map is very helpful for visitors to find the information that they’re looking for. Use dropdowns in the navigation menu so visitors have an easy time seeing the content under every heading from any page of your website.

4. Easy-to-find contact information

Not all visitors will have the patience to browse through your webpages to find how to contact you. Make it easy for customers to contact you in case they have questions, comments, or are ready to avail of your products and services. Put your contact information button in the top left or top right corner of the home page. You can also put it in every page of the website in the footer or side. Be sure that there are several ways for customers to contact you like through phone, email, and a standard contact form.

5. Customer testimonials

Putting a segment of your website that is dedicated to positive customer testimonials will help others develop trust in your business especially if you have just started with it. Feedback from previous customers helps shoppers decide whether your product or service meets their needs.

6. Obvious call-to-action buttons

Putting call-to-action buttons in your pages is not only engaging for your visitors but these are very useful for your sales or marketing team to get some general information from your potential customers. In call-to-action buttons, in exchange for their information, your visitors get access to freebies such as a free quote, e-book, or exclusively online discount vouchers.

7. Search engine-optimised

Your website is useless if it doesn’t appear on search engine results. Before putting up your website, become familiar with the SEO basics to make it more accessible to possible visitors. Using appropriate keywords in your text, placing plenty of links, and using meta titles and descriptions are some of the ways that help your website become more searchable.

8. Regularly produced informative content

Customers like to be informed before making a decision on buying a product or availing of a service. Having regularly produced content via blogs that are well-written and of value to visitors give the impression that you are very knowledgeable in the industry and have a good reputation. It can also be a way to connect with your audience and lets them know that you are not just there to sell. Blogs can also help you rank higher in search engine results thus drive more traffic to your website.

9. Simple but well-designed

Website visitors often quickly scan through a web page first before clicking and reading through the contents. This is why it is important to give your visitors an organised website that is not only appealing to the eyes but easy to read as well. A cluttered website look will have visitors disinterested to read the rest and will continue to search for another website.

It will also be helpful to use bullet points and highlight important words or phrases in your text.
